Mr Vladislav Onischenko, First Deputy

Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation provides on-demand information analytics and expert support to the Government of the Russian Federation on the key issues of the socio-economic development of the country in such areas as finance, industrial policy, energy, agriculture, transport, energy efficiency, environmental protection, strategic planning, project management, regional development, open data, social and labor relations, education, healthcare, innovations, information technologies, and many others.

The Analytical Center is actively involved in the affairs of the expert community, cooperating with Russian regions, national and international organizations, and R&D centers. Representatives of federal and regional authorities, business, public associations, industry unions, and associations - more than 4,000 people from all over Russia and over 200 people from around the world - are invited to take part in discussing relevant issues of national development. The Analytical Center hosts regular round-tables, expert discussions, seminars, and other events that the aforementioned people get invited to take part in. Analytical memos summarizing the results of expert discussions also get sent to the Government of the Russian Federation.

On 1st October 2014, the organization celebrated its 55th anniversary: it was on this day that in 1959 the Council of Ministers of the USSR signed an executive order establishing a Computational Center at the State Planning Committee of the USSR (which later became the Chief Computational Center of the State Planning Committee of the USSR), effectively, the first predecessor of the Analytical Center. Having undergone a series of reorganizations as the country was transitioning to a market economy and having changed several names in the process, the Analytical Center finally got its current designation in December 2005.

Since 2013 the Analytical Center has been rated in the annual Global Go To Think Tank rating (compiled by the University of Pennsylvania in the USA) among the best think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe and among the Top Social Policy Think Tanks, Think Tanks to Watch, and the Best Government Affiliated Think Tanks.

Today the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation employs over 120 experts and analysts with the total staff number exceeding 200 people.
